Murray Nelson became a prolific artist in a wide variety of media after earning his BFA from the University of Minnesota in 1974. He moved to San Francisco, California in 1979 and spent his nights enthusiastically making art while supporting himself with day jobs. Photography was his first love, but he quickly expanded to collage and sculpture with his signature pushpins essential to every style. He continues to create innovative works, living in Oakland with his wife, Melissa, who is weaving Navajo style rugs.
